I've encountered several cases of empty buckets or holes in rendered paintfx hairs with applied vray materials.
What I've done is painted follicles as nurbs & pFX hairs,
then converted pFX > Polys with mesh output activated.
Then Applied VRay Mat to to the outputmesh
Any clues?
edit: Oh, and I'm not rendering on a farm. This is rendering locally on my workstation. So its not nodes not updating correctly
