I have a scene that took about 40 min per frame to render on the farm with both irradiance map and light cache set to single frame.
When I baked out my GI using incremental add to current frame on the IR map, and fly through on the lightcache (both with use camera path set to on), my render times skyrocketed to 170-200 min per frame.
I first baked out the lightcache by setting both primary and secondary to lighcache with retrace threshold and use lightcache for glossy rays on.
Then I set it to from file, and bake out every nth frame (15), for the IR map.
After a few tests I put my light cache back to single frame, but kept using from file on the IR map, and the render times went back down.
Is there some checkbox or something that I could have missed?
It might be worth noting that the render tests were both done local and on the farm.
Thx in advance.
Edit:
After fiddling around a bit I read the render log and came to the conclusion that my scene most likely was corrupt. I reloaded all my references and alembic files, and rebaked and it seemed to work as intended.
On a sidenote, I found out that my light cache got very splotchy when ticking the "use camerapath" option, along with flythrough. Are these not meant to work together or so? If I just set it to flythrough and set it to "from file" the result was fine.
