  • might be deadline....might be vray 3.0 beta...

    I opened up the beta to all my lighters today, which means adding it to the farm. The issue we are having is this:

    in the render globals, the output path is:%s/%l/%s_%l
    the expected file output folder in deadline is:
    //disks/nas/project/show/shots/sht001/user/maya/images/thisMayaFile/thisRenderLayer/

    the output folder deadline is giving us is:
    //disks/nas/project/show/shots/sht001/user/maya/images/%s/%l

    The only change in the pipeline is vray 3.0 beta for maya.

    Any thoughts, because I'm stumped.

    Hi,

    In order to test this we need more information.

    Do you use Deadline's Maya integrated render script or you are submitting the job directly in Deadline Monitor?
    Which is your Deadline version?
    Could you post the log from Deadline?

        Actually I don't see anything wrong in the output from the Deadline log.

          oh, indeed, the render is fine, and the render output is fine, and that's why I'm pretty sure it's more of a deadline issue because the problem is deadline, when you right-click on the project title and go to the output folder, the output, according to deadline is:

          //disks/nas2/ELASTIC/14E512_adidas_world_cup/devl/work.ianr/maya/images/%s/%l

          and since that's where deadline thinks the files are, our render release scripts can't find the passes.

          I've forwarded all the info to thinkbox. we'll see what they say, and I'll update this thread, in case anyone else has this issue.

              For anyone who might be reading this thread, it turns out that the more recent VRay v3.0 beta builds ~March 2014 onwards, added an additional parameter to the "vrayTransfromFilename" function, which Deadline utilises to make the filename transforms work. This is now all fixed and available in Deadline v6.2 beta 7, which will be available sometime w/c 14th April 2014 onwards.
