  • Translating scene geometry with DR

Hi guys, I was wondering if there is any possible explanation why translating scene geometry takes too long when using distributed rendering. I'm using 2 additional nodes + 1 workstation and it takes about 3-4x longer than with 1 workstation only.

        Hi,

        Thank you.
Actually we would like to check your scene file in our environment (if possible) in order to find the reason for this big delay on translating scene geometry stage. I suppose that the file is confidential, so please contact us via our support mail support@chaosgroup.com and we will provide you with access to our FTP server.

Also please include this thread as a note in the mail.
        Thank you very much.

In DR, the exporter must walk through the animation before sending the scene to the slaves. If you have some uncached dynamics like particles and fluids, this can be slow. If you don't render animation, it's really strange.
