  • Vray Batch Render cancels by itself?

I'm not sure if this pertains to VRay, but I thought I would ask.
I'm rendering a shot at the moment, and it's very temperamental. It's really random how many frames it decides to render.
One night it rendered 2 frames, another night 87.

To start with I thought it was affected by Mayas autosave, but disabling that didn't solve the problem either.

So I was curious if it might be a VRay problem and not a Maya one?

    Thank you.

Check the output logs from the renders, they will probably give you some clues.

Says Rendering Complete, that's what baffles me.

Is that through backburner? Do you get any of the V-Ray output messages in that log?

          No, it's within maya

Eh that would make it harder to debug. V-Ray writes a log file in the temporary folder for the current user, called vray4maya_log.txt - does it say anything useful? Unfortunately that file is overwritten each time you start Maya or a batch render, so you'll need to grab it right after you get the errors.

Okay, I'll try and have a look at it after the next render stops.
But will this still write out an error even though Maya seems to think that it's completed the given job?

This is what I'm hoping for, yes.
