  • Rectangular Light Render Artifact

Hi Guys - So -- I'm using about 5 rectangular lights to supplement an interior scene. In the attached image, the surfaces on the other side of the light is are shading whiter. You can see the outline of the light at left. This artifact is also happening on other rec lights that are not facing so parallel to camera. There are no weird settings in the lights, intensity set close to 1.0, scale set to 1.0 and controlled by UV scales, etc. Diffuse, spec, refl, are active.
Is is this common limitation in Vray or there a work-a-round that's workable?

    Vray 3.0 (vray_beta_30502_maya2013_x64)
    Thank you,
    Andrew

    Hi,

    It looks like a bug.
Could you share an example scene or send the current one to our support@chaosgroup.com mail ?
    Thank you

Are the lights set to "invisible" ?

      Hi,

Thank you very much for sending us the scene file.

The Max transparency levels parameter is too low for this setup. A value about 10 should work fine.
Please start one test render and let me know if there is any artifacts again.
