  • Nparticle mesh and velocity

    Hi,
Does anyone knows how to get a velocity pass for a mesh created from nparticles (convert Nparticles to polygons).
Vray doesn't seem to see the mesh moving as (I think) the mesh is a new entity for every frame.
I read somewhere about baking the mesh animation, but that didn't work.

    Any tips?

    Thanks,

Which V-Ray version/service-pack you are using?
I managed to get velocity information from converted to polygons nParticles with version 3.x.

      Hi,

      I am using: [2014/Sep/16|16:26:50] V-Ray: V-Ray for Maya version 2.40.02 from May 14 2014, 16:40:13
      [2014/Sep/16|16:26:50] V-Ray: V-Ray core version is 2.00.02

We have version 3 but no license yet( our IT dept is managing this)

      Thanks,

I've just run another test with V-Ray 2.40.02 and there is no velocity information.
It seems that this is only supported in version 3.x.

V-Ray 3.x beta program is still open you can apply for it on the following link:

You should update the licenses on the dongle.
If you don't know the procedure please contact us at support@chaosgroup.com and we will help you with that.
