  • Dome light with hdri not showing in ipr with rt

Hello there, I'm currently testing the GPU rendering with VRay 3 and I'm having issues with certain objects in the IPR. I have some simple primitives in the scene with various shaders on and a couple of lights. I also have a dome light with a HDRI attached. Everything renders but this.
Any help on this would be great. Thanks

    Hi,

Have you looked at this table: http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/V...orted+Features ?
It shows what is expected to work and what isn't.

If you still have problems after you remove the unsupported objects/shaders please sends us scene or post a bit more detailed description what you're expecting to happen and what happens in reality.

That's great and very interesting thank you. It's say's image based lighting is supported but having attached a HDRI to my dome light it stops working. Does it not support .HDR files. I can test this but I thought I might as well ask first.

Do you by any chance use a physical camera ?

It would be best to attach a scene here or send it to support@chaosgroup.com - .HDR images definitely work for dome lights.

            Best regards,

Thanks for the reply, I'll send it over first thing. I'm away from my work computer at the moment.

I've sent my scene with attached .HDR to support.

Thank you very much for the scene.
I've just tested it and I can confirm that it worked with Maya 2015 and V-Ray 3.00.01.

Can you try to remove the Pre and Post Render MEL callbacks and run another test?
I don't have Yeti on my machine and I had to remove those callbacks in order to start the renderer.

Thanks for the reply, was that on the GPU with the IPR?

Yes - it was on the GPU(CUDA).

Oh, still doesn't work here. If I put a .jpg in the light texture it works, just not the .hdr. Which does work on the CPU. Strange. Click image for larger version

OK then, would it be possible to send us the logs from Maya' Output window and from V-Ray console after Cuda render.
Let us know also what OS you are using and what version.

What happens if you plug the HDR map into diffuse slot of the V-Ray material?
