  • VRAY 3 Progessive Render on Farm

Hi there, we are using VRAY 3.05.04.25445 on Linux. Locally (in Maya) we can set progressive rendering to 30 minutes and it works great, but when we put this on the farm, it renders in 30 minutes, but generates black frames. Is there any trick or setting that would need to be done to make this work. Is there any information I can give that would help debug this issue?

    Cheers,
    -Chris

What file format are you saving to? Are you rendering through Maya or through V-Ray Standalone? Which Maya version? Can you post the output from the render?

    Best regards,

You will also run into another problem, unless all of your machines are identical by specs some machines may render for 30 minutes but produce grainier result since they are slower, so you will have discrepancy in frames done by different spec machines.

        Hopefully this information is helpful.

What would you need from the image, the actual file? The image itself is 100% black. If you need the image I would l have to look into what that would take on our end to get permission.

        Cheers,

Hm, you should have gotten a warning that deep output is not supported in progressive mode yet.

Weird no error message ever showed up. But will give it a try in another format.

              Cheers,
