  • depth of field - missing buckets

    Hi there,

We're rendering a couple of shots with a very shallow depth of field, and have noticed that there are many buckets that appear black where vray has assumed there's no geometry. Is there a fix for this, or some sampler setting?

    Thanks,

    -Mike

you need to set your dmc min subdivs to 2 or 3.

      Hi Dmitry

thanks for the quick reply. These are my sampler settings, doesn't this mean that my DMC min samples are already at 8?

OK, I mixed up samples & subdivs. Min subdivs set to 3 fixes the problem, thanks

you need min subdivs under adaptive, its at 1 right now.

Alternatively, you may use bigger buckets, so the adaptive sampler is more likely to find a sample inside. For final rendering, avoid using something below 32 I think.
