  • Layered Texture rendering black.

    Hi,

I'm wondering if this is a bug or I'm doing something wrong. I've attached an image showing hypershade connections to a shader. The top set of connections are broken, the bottom work as expected.

Basically i want to be able to add a single output channel to all RGB channels in a layered texture node. As you can see in the image, when i try this the shader goes black, however it works if the single Outcolor nodes are connected instead of individual RGB channels.

The reason i want a single channel connection is to be able to use the 'outValue' connection from a remapValue node so i can use the value curve to alter a texture, presumably similar to 3dsmax output curve.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Aidy

Just recently, I came upon a similar issue. We'll investigate that and inform you of what we discover.

Can you please send us a scene that illustrates the problem? I can't reproduce it, even though I'm following the same Hypershade model.

Send it to support@chaosgroup.com and include the URL of this thread.

      Thank you!

We just fixed this behaviour. Now V-Ray works as expected in both cases -- attaching to the color attribute or its RGB components individually.

This patch will be available to you with our upcoming SP release.

Thank you for pointing this out!
