Nightlies give me a license error

the last working nightly for maya 2017 on Windows 8.1 is vray_adv_35501_maya2017_x64_27163
since vray_adv_35501_maya2017_x64_27172 I always get a license error:

// Error: Could not obtain an interface license (-200)!

I switched back to 27163 and that works again.. I didn't find anything about that so I'm wondering if I'm the only one having this issue...

edit: Also with the today's nightly for Maya 2016 I get the license error...

Hi, sorry to hear that you've run into an issue. We'll need a bit more information:
* are you running the license server locally or in a network, i.e. on the same machine where you're using maya or on another machine in your network?
* what is the version of your license server?
* if you're running the license server on another machine - what is the OS on that machine?
* how many machines are obtaining a license from that same license server, i.e. are there more than one machines getting a license from the same license server where multiple licenses are stored?

Can you also try if disabling swatch rendering fixes the problem? It's done from the maya menus > Windows > Rendering Editors > V-Ray > Render Swatches.

hey alex,
* I'm running the license server on the same machine.
* my ls version is 3.0 protocol ver.7
* three machines are obtaining licenses from that server. there are multiple liceneses, I#m working with: maya 3.x and max 2.4 but I actually use always one software at a time, so the second and third machines are just
render slaves.

just downloaded the today´s version, unchecked the render swatches button but still running into the same issue...

p.s. When editing the last post of a thread my original message is not shown in the edit window anymore...

It adds up to a bug that slipped in with build 27165. We actually already knew about it and we've been working on a fix since then, I just wanted to confirm.
Thanks for the report and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
I'll let you know when there's a fix.

Guess I am experiencing a similar issue. I am running Maya 2017 x64 on Win 7.
I was able to render with vray_adv_35501_maya2017_x64_27164 but today after I installed vray_adv_35701_maya2017_x64_27198, I got the same error.

As workaround you can check env path VRAY_AUTH_CLIENT_FILE_PATH
In my case when it local, all works fine. But when it network path, I have same issue.

Hi, can you post the exact string containing the V-Ray version when it is loaded in Maya? It should be in the Output Window and should be something like this:
"V-Ray for Maya version 3.55.01 from Feb 3 2017, 16:54:07".
