  • vray dirt values above 1

    Hi,

When adding vray dirt as an extra tex in vray 3.5002 for maya 2016 I get some extremely high values sometimes. The whitepoint was 12 I think.
Not exactly sure when this occurs but it has happened numerous times.
The pass itself looks white in the framebuffer, in comp i have to gain it down quite a bit (0.05 in one case) to get the correct result.
Is this a common bug and is it already baing worked on?

    Thanks

    Hi,
I'm not able to reproduce the issue. What file format do you use for the final output. If possible sharing a scene where the problem occurs would be very helpful.

I can not reproduce it either... It just looks like it happens randomly. When I delete another render element the dirt in the extratex looks correct again. if In undo that action and the element comes back, the dirt renders correctly again (eventhoug before the delete the same circumstances did not work).
Will test some more to see if I can set up a scene with the issue.

Attached a scene with the issue. It's a broken down scene from the work file that I had the issue with. I removed everything unimportant and got this far.
Once you remove the denoiser the issue is resolved. If you undo this remove, the issue is still resolved for some reason.
No Idea how or why this happens but I've seen it occur in multiple files now.
        Hope you can help!

OK, I manage to replicate that, it looks like a bug definitely.
Will send it to our Developers for further investigation and will keep you posted.

The issue is pretty consistent when I'm enabling/disabling the existing Denoiser element but it disappears immediately if I add new Denoiser elements with the same settings as the original one?
Do you remember what modifications did you do on this Denoiser element? Is this isolated case or you got the same issue on other scenes also?
