  • Bifrost Cached Liquid Batch Render - Wrong

I have a disk cached bifrost liquid sim that renders correctly in the v-ray frame buffer window, if I render a single frame.

If I run a batch render, it renders the bifrost liquid but doesn't use the cached sim animation. The liquid appears in the render but isn't animated like the cached sim.

If I render a frame range to the frame buffer window directly, it is also wrong, it looks the same as the batch render.

    See attached images.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a workaround, like a script to render each frame into the buffer window, save the image, etc.

    I'm running Maya 2017 update 4, Vray 3.52.03 on Windows 10.

Thanks for the reminder, but unfortunately this still doesn't work. We will raise its priority additionally. Sorry for your trouble.

See if enabling meshing helps in this case (in liquidShape > Bifrost Meshing > Enable).
We'll work to improve bifrost support in the future.

Is this not resolved in V-Ray 5?
Even with V-Ray 5.2, direct rendering of Biforst Mesh does not work with BatchRender.
