Ever since moving to Maya 2018, rendering with Vray will frequently lock up so that render progress appears to halt, mouse cursor is unresponsive and my machine is basically frozen. After anywhere from 10 seconds to several minutes it will release, I get control back and the render suddenly jumps way ahead in progress. In other words, the render is still going in the background, it just locks the machine up completely while doing so. It will do this several times during every render.
This happens on both my home and work rigs, both of which are Win10, Latest version of Maya 2018 and latest Vray, dual proc Xeons, one has 64GB RAM the other 128GB RAM. These problems never occurred prior to Maya 2018 so I doubt it's hardware related.
During render, my RAM is not getting maxed out so it's not that. Also, setting the Affinity in Windows to reserve a few CPUs prevents the computer from being locked up, but the render itself will still lock up and jump ahead as described above.
