VrayDisplacement, is this correct behaviour

  • VrayDisplacement, is this correct behaviour

    Hello, I am rendering some displacement, when i choose normal displacement (default) it looks like this

    and when i choose 2D displacement it looks like this?

    IT seems that when i choose normal displacement it doesnt subdivide the surface and but displaces it (you can see the front edge of plane isnt straight) then adds it as a normal map, surely this isnt correct?

    im running 3.6.0.1 maya 2016 win7

    Don't know why that's happening, but what happens if you add the "subdivision" attributes?

      hiya,

      think its me being a noob! it seems to work on normal displacement with edge length 2 and max subdivs 32
