  • Animated object to not move/change when rendering a test

    Hi,
let me explain my problem. When I animate an object (like a translation), if I move it and do a render in the vfb or render view, the object get moved back to the keyed position before rendering.
With Maya software or MR, the object doesn't move. If it doesn't move it is easy to test various position for example.
Would it be possible to add an option to tell Vray not to check any animation and render the frame as it is or Vray should test the frame only if motion blur is activated (like in MR).

I am currently placing lights that have different position per frame. But when I try to quickly move it for a test I have to keyframe it.

    Thanks.

This should be fixed in the latest nightly builds (since revision 13154). Note that if motion blur is enabled, this will not work (maya software/mental ray in that case also revert the object position). If you still see the issue, please let us know.

          Hi Yannick,
If you want an animated object to stay on his position, after you move it and do a render. You have to turn off "Motion Blur" from camera settings and also don't use "Irradiance map" or "Light cache" with turned on "Use camera path" or "Light cache" with "Fly-through" mode in GI settings during your test.

Just a thought... did you try "muting" the channels while you are doing your test renders?

                Hi David,
yes that's another way. However there is a risk I forget to unmute something...
