  • per renderpass bit depth

    Hey,

I´ve got a quick question about the renderpasses from VRay.
We have recently switched from rendering multichannel erx´s to single erx files per renderpass (to speed up the comp process on shots with many renderpasses/layers).

In my next step I would love to switch from 16bit float to 32bit float frame format, zdepth worldposi and some extra passes just work a lot better with 32bit float images.

Unfortunately a comp file will render 4 to 8 times slower with 32float exrs, due to the fact that there is A LOT more data to stream other the network.

So my question is: Would it be possible to add a small thingy to the different passes which controls the bit depth during the save process?

    That would be awesome!

    Thanks in advance

This is on our "to do" list, although I can't say yet when it will be implemented.

    Best regards,
