  • Fume FX support

Are there plans to support Fume FX on Maya since it already is supported on 3DS Max?

  • #2
I think in Max there are standard volumetrics which VRay supports. In Maya, the Fume FX guys must write plugin for VRay. It's up to them.

We have started looking into the Field3D file format support for the Phoenix FD shaders too and I hope it will be done in a month or so; while the FumeFX guys might decide to do a V-Ray shader, we should probably not count on it and we should be prepared for another way to get there.

          Best regards,

It would be best to contact Sitni Sati directly, they should have something for you.

Well, we are almost done with the field3d support. Currently it's working only with PhoenixFD nightlies + VRay 3.0. But the idea is Phoenix FD for VRay 2.x and VRay 3.0 alone to work also soon.

Eh well. Kresimir told me earlier this week that they managed to get their V-Ray version of the FumeFX shaders working, so maybe you'll see it soon.

                    Best regards,

                          Hi,
As you can see on the Sitni Sati web site the Vray Shader is done... "http://www.afterworks.com/FumeFX_Maya/VRay.asp?ID=17" but it works on vray 2.45 which I've never heard about it . Any news on this please. I have enough of suing Mental Ray
                          Regards
