  • Control value/ percent of maps like 3dsmax

In 3dsmax you can control the percentage of any map it would be great if we could do the same in maya!!!

Seems like it would be simple enough?...

You can use the blendcolor node, assign the map to one of the slots, a color to the other and the blend attribute to act as the percentage. There's another thread somewhere about it.

There was a heated discussion about this a long time ago; the overall consensus was to leave it like that because the native Maya shaders work in this way. As others suggested, you can use a blend node to do the same thing.

But how to plug blendcolors node into reflection glossiness slot?

It's really not the same thing at all. :/

Connect the outputR attribute of the blendColors node to the reflectionGlossiness input of the VRayMtl node?

              Best regards,

Most of the Maya textures also have color/alpha gain.
