  • color correct node

Something I miss in Maya is a node to do basic color correction to textures:

for example color inputs for the following:
    saturation
    exposure
    gamma
    gain
    multiply
    offset

It would be great if there was a Vray texture utility node that could do all of this.

I didn't realize there was one. Can you point to the manpage for it? I don't see it listed in the render node utilities.
I'm aware of things like remapColor and remapHSV, but not of a proper CC node.

There is also Create > V-Ray > Create from V-Ray plugin > Texture > ColorCorrection.

            Best regards,

thanks, looks like there are a few actually:
              colorCorrect
              colorCorrectTex
              colorCorrection

of the three, colorCorrectTex looks like it fits the bill the best (it has gamma, gain, saturation, offset, clamp, and hue shift).

Any chance this might make its way out of the plugins and into the Maya Hypershade in the future? No reason to hide these little gems! Also "tilesTex" is pretty awesome. I'd love to see that graduate out of the plugins too!

colorCorrectTex is the V-Ray implementation of the colorCorrect lookdev node for Maya, so you can just go ahead use that one. It will be translated internally to colorCorrectTex anyways.

                    just reviving this ol thread

I used the colorCorrection node...and is it meant to be so sensitive? On the left in uncorrected, on right a contrast correction setting of 1.1 (1 being the default).
