  • ScatterVolume Material

    Hi Guys,

I noticed there is an interesting shader in 3ds max, the vray scatterVolume, but it is missing in vray for maya. How come?
Am I missing something? If not, how can i achieve a similar effect? Basically trying to combine SSS and refraction.

    Thank you!

I'm sorry we couldn't back to you sooner.
We don't have an implementation for the scatter volume material for Maya at the moment. You could experiment with the different scatter modes of the SSS material (in the Options rollout of the material setings) or try layering it with the blend material.

Any update for Maya? Could we have the scatter volume material in V-Ray Next for Maya?
          Thank you.

It's on the to-do list, but it's not ready yet.
