  • Desaturate textures in vray

    How can I Desaturate textures and change gama in vray? I dont know how to work with color carrect and color correction vray nodes.

    The gamma you can change from the Image Map directly.

    For de-saturation with the V-Ray Color Correct node, you can do it like this:

    I should implement NODO's Process texture at some point, but I couldn't figure out how to match its results.

        Hello Vladimir,

        Do you think it would be possible that parenting a Color Correct / Color Correction to a layer ( as a layer mask ) automatically connect it to the parent ( make the parent layer as the Texture Source ) ? It's the behaviour of Modo's Process layer and it is very convenient for the scenes which don't use nodes for the materials. It saves a few clicks

          Are you sure the process texture works like this ?
          I think you put the process texture above another layer and it uses this other layer as input.
          I plan to add this type of behavior (probably enabled with a check-box to preserve old scenes) to some of our textures at some point.

            Oh yes in fact I was wrong, but you get it.
            The idea is to bypass the use of schematic view to connect the texture layer to the CC layer, no matter how it's done. Great to see that you have already planned this.
