yes, that is the one! It will not let me log into my account. Even reset my password so I know that I am using the correct username

It's possible that you don't have access rights to see the contents on that page.
I will ask around who gets access, hopefully it will be possible to give it automatically to all V-Ray for MODO owners.

            1. I have still a 3dsmax license (1.5) and can't download as well.
            2. How to import them into Modo?

You create a V-Ray VRmat material, and then select the .vrmat file in there.
If the .vrmat file contains multiple materials, you then need to select the one you want to use.

The .vrmat format is basically a .vrscene with only materials stored in XML format.
It should be possible to extend the .vrscene import to work with .vrmat files.

It will take some time until the web team can update the access for everyone.

You can send an e-mail to support@chaosgroup.com with your chaosgroup.com user-name, requesting access to that page and they should give it to you, manually.

Hello Vladimir, i've access to that page - http://www.chaosgroup.com/en/2/downl...-ray-materials - but i get Vray for Rhino/Sketchup Materials (i'm a Modo user/client), which don't look the same as the screen shot you post, at least they are not organized like that: i get several folders titled as Architectural, Automotive, Fabric, and so on. Maybe they are the same.

Anyway, i think we can't tweak those materials, even change basic stuff like color difuse, so i ask: will we get a Vrmat editor in Modo or standalone?

Also, will we get V-Ray 3.0 Quick Settings?

                    Thanks.
                    Carlos

I will ask, there seem to be two separate sets of materials:
                      1. V-Ray materials (Low Resolution Library)
                      2. V-Ray for Rhino / Sketchup Materials
I have access to 1., you seem to have access to 2.

Anyway, i think we can't tweak those materials, even change basic stuff like color difuse, so i ask: will we get a Vrmat editor in Modo or standalone?
I will try to convert the .vrmat files into MODO material presets, so you can edit them inside MODO directly.

Also, will we get V-Ray 3.0 Quick Settings?
                      Not sure when.

Can you send another e-mail to support, asking them to give you access to V-Ray materials (Low Resolution Library). They might have given you the wrong access rights.

I'm not sure if we need the whole scope of materials for Modo. Most Modo presets work very well with Vray. The things where it gets complicated and tricky are the ones interesting. I have an old 3dsmax where I can check that, in theory, because I currently have no own Windows machine.

Anyhow there are also lot resources in the internet. The best thing to start with is to get some samples in vrscene format. But also read about the difference and tricks how to use.. things can get very complex and frustrating in some cases, vray material is almost 20 years old and that means you have to go through all the additions over the years and ignore things you will never need.

One of the bigger things is that Modo divides between Color Value and RGB and ALPHA, Vray however always takes RGB for nearly everything, even if colors are not needed and might even produce wrong effects. So things like the RGBA effect in Modo are not working easy in schematic.
But its version 1.0.. things might improve.

Until we add the (updated) material library to the new site, you can download it from here : http://ftp.chaosgroup.com/support/VR...al_Library.zip
