Was just curious, because the option to have at least my renderslaves running LINUX with V-Ray for MODO as standalone-version on them would be great.

Does that work? Because the "normal" standalone version for windows didn't work with V-Ray for MODO...I had to install the V-Ray for MODO version as standalone on all my slaves

So, this is a good case for creating a V-Ray for MODO for Linux, so you have a matching version of the Windows/Mac builds, which you could use on render slaves to save on some expenses for buying an OS.
I have it logged to make a Linux version, but can't promise when I will get there.

When the Affinity-Serif team was asked about a possible linux-version of their 2D pixel/vector programs, their only answer was "if you give us the $ 500.000,- this port would "cost" us, we'll consider it"

Progressive in DR mode makes Modo crash on the main computer, and some Modo specific features ( like the Variation Texture ) aren't supported since it's in recent builds which don't run on Linux.
