  • Realistic Carbon Fiber shader in Vray for Modo

    Hi,

After some testing, the best way really to get a realistic Carbon Fiber shader is using one normal map that is baked from real fibers geometry. So,just Frensel of 2.5 and the normal map that I baked in Modo So,there is no need to use maps for faking Anastropy..etc

    Here are the results

And here is the geometry I used to bake the normal map in Modo,

        good job!
We really should create a database to share shaders, that would improve learning V-Ray.

            Thanks! ^^
This would be nice! I have many materials on my disk created using native Vray shaders and textures. I will upload here in the forum every day hopefully

Was this shader/texture set uploaded anywhere? I was about to do very similar work to create my own and found this thread.

Intuition I have the maps and shaders yes, which V-Ray plugin do you use?
or do you want the maps only? I can share both

                  Best,

Maps is ok, I did recreate a Carbon Fiber in Substance Designer that works pretty well but I would still like to try what you have since it may still be better. Thanks for the response.

                      Hello,

Here are 2 variations of the normal maps I baked, I uploaded 5k versions here.. the original baked maps were in 20k resolution, I still have them as well
You will be able to get a different look by changing the normal map multiplier

                      Best,
                      Muhammed
