  • V-Ray Dirt

    Hi

I'd like to create one first in the crevices around the edges of a metal belt buckle, and came across VRay Dirt, which sounds like the thing to use. This page https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...y+Dirt+Texture under "Parameters" it says that for both the occluded and unoccluded colour that

"A texture map can also be used for this parameter."

    1) How can we do this in MODO?

    2) Now I've got the effect that I want in VRay Dirt, I'd like to blend this with the VRay Material of the item - Im using Multply, etc does not seem to have much effect. Am I doing it the right way?

    Thanks

Here is what is happening.... I've tried lots of different blending modes, even duplicating VRay Dirt layer - no luck though....

You can connect the texture using the Schematic. Drag and drop the V-Ray Dirt texture in the Schematic and do the connection there.
The other texture can be put in the "Nodes" folder in the Shader Tree or somewhere below your material, possibly in a hidden material group.

In your case you need to change the effect of the V-Ray Dirt texture to "vmtl Reflection Color", the way it is currently, it is applied to the diffuse color, which is black.
