V-ray could not initialize UI license, error code is : -200

Oh, I did not restart because of the install. But I sometimes install OS or Driver updates, get a restart and find V-Ray not working. That only happens if I installed a new nightly build of V-Ray before. I tested that.

I just got a new laptop so I installed the latest vray for modo. Of course now I'm getting the same error message - V-Ray could not initialize UI license, error code is: -200 (The ChaosGroup License Server could not be reached.) This is on windows 10 64.

go to services and start the VRLService, or just reinstall the server

I've done both and still get the same error message.

I got it sorted out. Instead of using the license server included with the modo/vray download zip file I used the 5.1.2 standalone license server.
