how is it done in katana? could we implement something similar?
Yes, it is not available in Katana, but even if it was, this won't matter much, because Nuke and Katana work totally differently.
They have nothing in common.
This is what I've meant. Katana and Nuke has totally different ui and workflows.
Connecting textures/stuff to nodes in Nuke is different to the way this is done in Katana.
hey vlado sorry for the late reply, india and Russia events was really inteanse. specially the visas!..
the simplest method of work flow for this they way i see it for obj is to implement it like the mask node we have for vrayMTLblend which we toke the que from merge node.
