  • Revit closes when making a render.

I'm told by Boxx, that my PC and GPU are awesome, and I agree.
But I'm not sure why Revit closes when I try to render a scene which may be quite large in resolution.
For example, if I use medium quality, and a resolution of say 3,400 x 19,000 pix, the render starts but then revit closes completely with no error message.
If I do that same render at a much smaller size, I have no problem.
No atmosphere, nothing fancy, just closes unexpectedly. A bit frustrating.
Is there a setting that I'm missing? Perhaps my machine's memory isn't set up properly or allocated properly? Not sure.....
    Any thoughts?
If there is a way to make a smaller render print much larger after creating the image, then I suppose that could be a solution, but my thoughts is that I need a high resolution very large render image.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Cheers,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Did you mean 1900 or 19 000 pixels?

      Hi Ana,
      19,000 as an example.
I did discover that my Boxx machine has a faulty processor, and it is back in Boxx's hands for repair. So it may have been the machine not capable of calculating so much data.
Aside from that, are you suggesting that Vray has a pixel maximum? I found that Enscape does, but im hoping Vray does not. I sometimes work on larger site projects where i need larger image files created. Perhaps i need to learn a better way to make larger images after vray???
      Thanks,
      Dave

        Hi Dave,

There is no pixel maximum. Next time when you render large very images, make sure that you have set the Sampler to Buckets. This will prevent you from running out of memory.

        Best,
        Ana
