  • Cryptomatte mask missing from channels settings

The option for using a Cryptomatte mask is available in the VFB but it is not exposed in the channel settings so cannot be used.

Is this the expected behaviour at this stage of development?

I cannot find any mention of Cryptomatte masks when searching the online docs.

    Hi Anthony,

Yes, this is expected, as cryptomatte element hasn't been added to V-Ray for Revit yet.

      Hi Anna,

Are you able to give an update as to when the cryptomatte element will be added to V-Ray for Revit please?

Additionally, will you be enabling the Material ID channel (with AA) as an option for VFB masks?

        Hi again Anthony,

I can't give such an update at this point. We're planning to include it though. You can actually contribute to the development of this feature by suggesting what other ID types should we envision besides element name, material name and category.

As for your other question, there is a technical obstacle which currently prevents us from enabling this. Will double check though.

I think that element name, material name and category is a good starting point.

By element name to you mean family name or type name or some combination of both?

Would it be too much to be able to pick any parameter and use that to generate a mask for elements with that parameter applied and populated? (eg. that might somewhat help with the question I had regarding filters)
