  • Global overrides scaling

Hi there, when I use a material for global override (opaque) I cannot scale the material, therefore it is difficult to set up a a model/maquette view with a complex model without manually altering the mapping of all materials in the appearance manager. Help!

    Hello merca3 ,

Here is a workaround I would suggest.

I assume you already have the override material which you want to assign to the Opaque.
(images are attached to illustrate the below steps)

Step 1: In the V-Ray Asset Editor, create a UVW Placement from the Textures menu.
Step 2: Set the textures of your material to use Mapping Source as a placement type.
Step 3: Drag-n-drop the UVW Placement asset over the Mapping Source slot (choose to paste it "as instance", i.e. 1 UVW Placement will be associated with all the textures of the material).

With the UVW Placement, you will be able to control the textures altogether.

      Thanks Anna
I'll try this...in future editions it would be great to have an override for this
and also the infinite ground plane (which comes in several times the model scale!)

        Hello merca3 ,

        Thank you for the advice!
At this point, as a workaround for using the material for the Infinite Ground Plane, you can duplicate the material and set an appropriate scale as described by Ana.
