  • VRAY Revit Image

    Good Morning All,
I am running into a issue. I have a piece of equipment that for the front controls I am using a image to display the buttons. I made this material inside Revit so when I render it with VRAY it turns it into a VRAY material like it should. The problem is that in Revit realistic view the image looks perfect, but when i render it the image shifts??

    Hi kdickerson,

Do you mind sending us the Revit file along with the assets? We would like to test it in our environment.
Can you also point out your V-Ray for Revit version? (it is listed at the bottom of the About box)

    Thank you in advance,
    Ana

Unfortunately I legally can't share the Revit file.

Revit VRAY Core version is 3.40.4; SDK 1.8.3; Revit 340.02

This version of V-Ray for Revit is outdated. Version 3.50.02 is available for download on our website. Here is a link to it: https://download.chaosgroup.com/?product=47&platform=55
Can you upgrade to it and confirm if the issue still persists?

Regarding the file, we can sign an NDA. Isolating the object along with the problematic map would also work for us. We simply need to test it in our environment in order to investigate what is causing the wrong mapping.

        Best,
        Ana

The picture shows that the texture is shifted to the right and connected to the next one - that is, the textures in tiles, a checkerboard. As far as I know, the v-ray in the current edition can not be superimposed on the image object as it can be done in Revit - the Decal function. I tried to make the material with the texture application without duplication. The material was made in Revit and rendering using v-ray. Unfortunately. In rendering, the picture was moved to the right. In general, how to set the texture in a v-ray to its size, the dimension was what we expect. In Revit, in the material editor, as you click on the texture, a window appears in which you can set the sample size. How can this be done in a v-ray. For example, we have the figure of a man with a cut out background, we make the material with him in order to have the figure of this man in the picture (just like in RPC). We set the character height and render. In Revit, we see this figure of size as set, using v-ray, the person is smaller, lower. Someone may know how to do it using v-ray. I use the latest version of v-ray and Revit 2018.
              Greetings, Marek

                Hi all,

I'm unsuccessfully trying to reproduce the problem on V-Ray for Revit 3.50.02.

@Kdickerson, have you already upgraded your V-Ray version and what happened?
Marek, do you have a sample scene illustrating this problem with Revit textures translation which you can sent to me?

Here are a few suggestions. Use V-Ray material.
                1. The model pattern in Revit is connected to the V-Ray material pattern, so if you use a V-Ray material and want to adjust it according to object's geometry, you need to go to any elevation or plan view in Revit, select a random line from the model pattern (by pressing the Tab button) and then move it. Note that this works for host elements like walls, floors, roofs etc.
                2. In the V-Ray material editor, in the texture properties, there is a UVW expander where you can find settings for texture offset. This works analogically to Revit's texture position.

                Best,
                Ana

The easiest way in Revit is to use the Graffiti (decal) function. When creating a texture material, they do not want to move. I set the texture of the banner without repeating it as a single one. The effect is visible in the attached pictures. With Revita rendering, the direction of the texture setting is consistent and in texture with the V-Ray the texture is rotated 180 degrees. Render from V-Ray Decal does not show up. How to do it?

Ana Lyubenova Finally was able to update. Still having the same issue. Still shifted. When i first created the material in revit for the image i had to shift and resize to adjust accordingly.

Please, isolate only the object + the assets in a separate Revit file and send it to us.
