Kraig, looking at it in more detail I realised that is what you used.
What threw me off was the bit of the ground texture you can see through the fur where it lacks density. At first glance it looked to me like you had managed to achieve some kind of variation/addition of other plant types in foreground with the fur! Dear everyone, I am new here in the forum, My question on the proxy trees is: how can I keep the correct mapping for the leaves, if they are accurately made material (means a pretty detailed tree leaves with an opaque mask to ensure the right shape and color etc of the leaves, such as the trees made by "speed tree cinema"), the problem comes from the size of the material may different for different single leave....is it possible that this kind of trees be utilized in the vray for revit?

I'm trying to understand whether your question is: can we use SpeedTree Cinema objects as proxies in V-Ray for Revit? Or it is related only to proxies mapping?

Dear Ana my question related to the proxy mapping only, the situation that every leaf is mapped with a dedicated material which is masked by opaque map to ensure the shape of the leaves. In this case the size for the leaf material(actually the mapping size) may be various and the mapping shape and direction may also be various. If the leaf’s size is not matching the shape of the leaf in the model, the leaf will disappear, since there is a mask in the leaf material, when size is wrong the leaf geometry will get into the transparent part. But when we apply a material to proxy in Vray for revit we need to input a size for the material. So I am curious if there is a way that we can use this kind of proxy in revit?

Hi Jim,
We tested with a tree exported from SpeedTree Cinema. It was exported in .obj format. Then we converted it to .vrmesh using the ply2vrmesh tool (https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...%7C+ply2vrmesh)
Then imported the .vrmesh in V-Ray for Revit. The different leaf sizes have different material IDs.
You will have to recreate the materials in the V-Ray Standalone Material Editor and then simply assign them to the slots. That's it.
