  • How to map correctly a photo on my 3D model?

    Hi!
I don't know how to do to map correctly this photo using Vray, on my 3D model.
I would like the photo at the good scale on the model. I am loosing my hair, trying to unwrap, to map using crop inside vray panel, to try with rhino to mach the surface with a box..... I understand really nothing on how to map a photo on a rhino model, in order i can resize to have the good scale, using Vray.
Could you please tell me, step by step, how to do?
I had courses, i saw the Rhino Tutorial for this, and i really can't understand. From the easiest thing, that, for example, is to put the good scale for a concrete texture in the library of materials in vray, to this photo on a this 3Dmodel, it seems so difficult to do this, thanks so much to help me!

    Hi marbella,

I guess the easiest way to achieve this is using Rhino Decals:
    1. Apply any material to the object
    2. Select the object
    3. Navigate to the Decal parameters in Rhino
    4. Add a new planar decal
    5. Position the projection the way you like (you have to show the decal gizmo first - by clicking on the small green icon on the right of the decal list item)

Please let me know if you are after something different.
