I am currently working on a rendering with hexagonal tiles in which the texture mapping of each tile is rotated which is why I use a toon material with a wood base layer and the outline acts as a visual gap between each tile. this comes in very handy since I don't have to model the actual tile joints. the downside is that as soon as I use a sphere light or a rectangular light it becomes visible (even though it's set to invisible). I rendered the same scene without toon material and it worked fine so I am pretty sure it has something to do with the toon material. has anyone ever experienced something like that and is there a way to solve this problem? as I have said, I would like to use the toon material because it saves me a lot of time modelling the joints and also because I really have to treat each tile differently - so it's not really an option to incorporate the outlines of the tiles in the material.
thanks in advance!
