  • Rhino Decal repeating in RTX render since upgrade to v5.2001

    Hi,

Today I upgraded to v5.2001. I am having an issue with rendering decals via the Rhino Decals feature which is causing decals to be repeated on the surface when using RTX mode but not CPU...This is affecting my old projects as well as a new one.
This was not happening previously, in v5.1006. The issue appears to be easy to replicate.
Today I also updated my graphics driver (RTX3800 - NVIDIA-GeForce-Desktop-DC-Graphics-Driver_61GF4_WIN_30.0.14.7141_A01_02). I was unable to start an RTX render in v5.2001 until I did this update to the driver.

The attached image shows the repeating issue. The tiger decal should be the centre of the surface and in Rhino Raytraced or Vray CPU it is.

Thanks in advance for the help.
    Kelvin

    Hi northsails_ltd ,

    Thank you for reporting this.
I was able to easily reproduce the issue and logged in our bug-tracking system (VRW-3450).

It seems to be caused by a change in V-Ray Core which we did not notice.
I'll keep you posted on the progress we make.

Thank you once more and excuse us for the inconvenience.

    Regards,
    Konstantin

        Hi northsails_ltd ,

There is a new stable build uploaded here - https://nightlies.chaosgroup.com/mai...table/20211112
You can download it and test if the Rhino Decal issue is resolved.
Note that there was another issue reported causing Spherical and Cylindrical decals to render incorrectly in some situations.
We are currently working on it and we'll hopefully resolve it next week.

        Thank you in advance,
        Konstantin
