  • v5.2 - GH "Material from File" causing "Render in Project" Error

After upgrading to version 5.2 I've noticed that the emissive light materials that I have setup as "Material(s) from File(s)" in all of my render files are now causing the "Render in Project" component to throw up an error.

Please see test file and screenshots linked/attached below.

I've downgraded to v5.1.6 and it's working as expected.

      Hello, Paul,
Simply delete the "V-Ray Mtl" underlying layer below the Emissive one in each of those materials, resave them as .vrmat files and everything will work.
The bug you showcased is now logged and awaits review by our developers. Thank you for this report!

      Kind regards,
      Peter

Ha - thanks Peter.Chaushev - 'Simply' is a relative word when you've got 100 individual material files linked up to a slider in grasshopper so you can scroll through intensity like an actual light component...

Indeed. I underestimated the scale of the issue. Apologies.
Can only assure you it is currently investigated by our devs and a solution will be devised and published in a minor update (v5.20.03).

No worries Peter.Chaushev I might have overstated the number of individual materials I have just a little

Your suggestion simplifies the material (not sure why I hadn't thought of that already) - so when I find some time I'll update them all anyway.
