  • Mapping wrong when importing HDRI from Cosmos

When I use any HDRI from Cosmos, the mapping is incorrect. Therefore I do not have the correct tools to rotate it
I have the same issue with any HDRI coming from Cosmos.
    Using V-Ray for Rhinoceros 7 6.10.02

javierrentas , thank you for your concern!
The cause of this issue is part of a larger design decision regarding Cosmos HDRI assets.
Improving the asset import logic will take care of the missing mapping type you reported (it was a shortcoming rather than faulty code).
Priority of your report is increased. A solution should be included in the next update of V-Ray for Rhino.

      Hello javierrentas,
      Thank you for your post.

Currently HDRI texture is imported as regular Bitmap texture. You can manually change Mapping type to Spherical to get the Rotation H/V controls you need.

We will consider if it can be improved in the future, for example to import HDRI textures with pre-set mapping.

When I import any HDRI in a fresh dome it comes with the correct mapping (Environment, Spherical).
When I imported a regular mapping it came with the correct mapping as 2D(UV Channel)
When I imported an HDRI from Cosmos it came with something wrong, Environment and not mapping.
This is a bug and an inconsistent behavior. Why do you need to consider if you can improve it? Just fix the correct mapping so that it is.
