  • Scatter crashes in V7

    Very basic set up:

Using a planar surface (circle) as my base surface, adding a box as my guest. Using default settings. Ading a simple spline and usinfg the spline as my area modifier to exclude. Playing around a little with the slider of near and far, scale and density: crash.

Using most recent V7 and mot recent Rhino 8 on a very strong computer.

Please fix asap, like this scatter can't be used.

    Best
    Toni

      Hi Ivelina,

Unfortunately there has nothing been released yet to fix this. Like this, scatter (with the new edge trimming feature) is not usable for production! So please make this issue a high priority.

      Thank you.

        Hello toniboni.

Our developers already resolved it and the fix will be included in our next hotfix.

Really waiting for the hotfix release.... Can't use the new scatter for production now.
btw... it seems the new vray has some issues that need to be covered. Also swarm seems to be pretty buggy. I have been wondering about the short beta period. Next time a bit longer perhaps?

The problem with the beta period is that use for projects is not recommended and therefore only tests are carried out. I would also use a beta with real projects if a quick response to problems could be expected. In the past, when ASGvis developed the plugin, there was direct contact between the developer and the beta user, and if there was a problem, the bug fix was available in hours.

I know Chaosgroup is huge and has many products ... but maybe critical fixes are possible a bit faster. But on the other hand, every new beta is based on the previous version and major problems are rare.
