  • RenderWindow issue

I think this is more of a Rhino issue, when using the render widow command it works fine if you stay in the viewport resolution. But if you render something larger than veiwport resolution using renderwindow it doesn't see what's in the viewport. The included image was rendered larger (using Render command) that the viewport, then I changed the cube to blue and used renderwindow and drew a marquee which included the whole cube in the viewport but as you can see it only did a portion of it.

    Thanks,
    Glen

Yes, it simply renders the size of the rectangle you draw, but it isn't sized to the custom render size. Renderinwindow a small rectangle in the left top corner of about 100*100px, then it will indeed render a 100*100px region in your custom sized view.

I'm not sure how flamingo would handle this, because I guess there's a problem if your viewport size has another aspect ratio than your custom render size. You could draw a rectangle in a region in the viewport that is not seen in your custom output size.

Good point , Flamingo will open a new window to render in when you use the render command, using the renderwindow will render right on your viewport and not open another window.

Seems it will have to be this way, but that means switching back and forth between custom resolution and viewport resolution (if you want to use the renderwindow to test render section of your scene).

My vote would go for the renderwindow to work like Flamingo does, I think it?s more useful.

      Thanks,

        RenderWindow issue

there are actually two render windows. One is RenderWindow and the other is RenderInWindow. One should pop up window and one renders directly in the viewport. Right now RenderWindow and RenderInWindow both do the same thing in VRay for Rhino. Eventually this will be changed to do as it is supposed to do.

I will look into the other issues brought up and see if there are any other changes that may be required. Thanks
