Not having much luck with DR either. Images will render fine on both computers but with DR checked this appears on the slave.

        well...

DR fails here either, very sad because less DR problems was a top reason for me to install the beta...

am I doing something wrong? i simply copied the Spawner folder from my machine to the slaves...

        best regards

          Hello ASGvis team

in the last 5 hours i had 3 crashes (rhino / vray crashed to the desktop without bug report window or alike). I think it happened each time, while i was manipulating the vfb in some way, last time it was after maximizing...

i will try to repeat this

          best regards

            hello again,

i have a file where i can trigger a crash almost every time. All i have to do is hit render, manipulate the controls for the vfb and occasionally maximize the vfb. Especially color curve correction seems to be very sensitive here...
It also crashes after finishing the rendering, normally all it takes is to apply a correction curve and maximize the vfb -> crash!

i will upload the file, it would be interesting, if you could repeat this behavior

i hope its not only me

            www.v-cube.de/bugtest-2.3dm

I think this one is pretty serious because it jeopardizes every modification of the vfb after you have rendered since you cannot be sure if it will crash or not. For now it might be a good idea not to maximize the vfb, since this seems to be the trigger...

            best regards

            Andy

@Corey: thank you Corey, I found the readme file. I installed the public beta without to deinstall the previous test beta and the installer tell me to update from the previous build to the new. Anything works fine, only the readme wasn't shown by the update.
Doe's Joe know a way per WINDOWS settings to shutdown the slaves without to confirm the spawner error message? Something like "close all programms in any case at shutdown"?

@Andy: I suppose so, you got the crash problem, because no active license is at your slaves. It should work without a license at the slaves, but ... .
The other crashes - hmm, never seen here.

Good news, it crash here too.

But, I test it at my other open scenes - render it a large res and fullsize the VFB and zoom in and adjust anything - no crash. Maybe you find a way to work around for now.

Hi Micha, thank you for testing it, the file is originally quite big
--EDIT1: and was originally created in the old vray version Edit1--
, what i posted is a stripped-down version of the scene, containing only three elements but still crashing, so whatever it is it still has to be somewhere in the scene.
I have tried to reproduce the behavior on another file, up to now without any success.

--EDIT2: I seems that the problem is related to scenes originally done with the old vray version. I copy + pasted everything from the crashing scene to a new fresh rhino instance and now it is stable! EDIT2--

                  does DR work for you?

                  best regards

DR works at machine with activated license. I'm not sure it work on other machines.

@Corey: I found a way to shutdown the slaves:

                    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
                    AutoEndTasks 1

First new bug: if I open an old project file, the objects are set to "layer" instead to "plugin" material. At other project files material and object are complete disconected. This is a worst case for complex scenes, because all material must be reassigned.

                        Hello Newsgroup,

not exactly a bug maybe but still a little annoying:

when I open files created with the old vray version and hit render, the result is often quite strange (over bright reflections, over bright illumination). This seems to be connected with the multiplier values of the reflection environment map and the values for emissive Materials. After manually lowering those (e.g. from 1400 to 6 for the reflectin environment), it seems to render OK...

@asgvis: is there maybe a certain factor to correct both multipliers to archive the same look with the new version ?

P.S. : any news on the DR issue? Since if that is not working, I will probably have to switch back to the old version...

                        thank you for any feedback

                        Andy

That's cause by an internal correction of the Vray engine. Now, physical cam and standard cam dosn't render so extrem different bright images.
