If I am starting a render, then start a new session of rhino to make another rendering, this rendering gets the Vray watermark >

the scene is quite simple, only 4 polysurfaces and one light are left from the original big scene. I just noticed that despite what i wrote turning off the phys. cam seems to solve the problem. on the other hand I could swear I tried that a few days ago and it did not work... maybe I was too tired.

looking at the rendering I found another bug which can better be seen in the second picture, it seems that there are two shadows visible , but there is only one sun...

      best regards

Thanks Andy...I'll take a look at the file and pass that along.

Also, do you mind sending me the shadow bug file...I haven't seen that one in any of my dealings with the vrSun recently.

          Hello dalomar,

actually the camerabug and the shadowbug are both in the same scene (the one I posted), It was original a bigger architectural scene and then stripped down by me to show the camerabug which occurred. However when I took a close look at the first screenshot I noticed the strange shadow pattern and so I rendered it from top view and discovered the duplicate shadow issue...

No Bug with the shadows...In the Background Sky map you had the sun reference to the default light not the one light in the scene.

Be back with the cam bug in a few

Interesting... initially I thought in the same direction, so I checked the environment tab but only the GI (skylight) settings... did not think of also checking the background... however why is there a connection between background and light source behaviour anyway? I only use the background to control my reflections, shouldn't the lightning settings been greyed out here or something?

                thanks anyway

Checked the camera, and there's something off somewhere. I'm not really sure exactly where it is /what is thats causing it to be off.

The weird thing is that its not always off, just in some instances. Below is a screen cap and render that has things matching up fine. PhysCam and all. So some where along the line something is getting messed up.

Damien, how did you get the grey areas at the sides of the viewport for showing the rendered area? I can't find the option.

                      SafeFrames....Options>SafeFrames>ON

It will reference the Rhino window size, so usually, since I work with 1 aspect ration, I just put that in there and there you go. Those have been around for a while Micha, surprised you didn't know about them. Also, they are not too reliable when they go beyond that viewport (ie vertical or really wide)

                        • Help! Can't install beta DR on slave systems

I downloaded the VRay beta and installed on my Rhino system. Then I attempted to install DR on my 4 slave systems. The installer uninstalled my previous version of Vray but fails to install the new DR. It fails with an error "Can not find the Rhino 4 installation". I have never installed Rhino on these systems since I only have one Rhino license. I never needed Rhino installed for DR in the past... Is this an install issue with the beta? How do I get DR installed on those systems???
                          Thanks for the help!

                          • HELP! Beta VRay renders white - Uninstall beta, reinstall Vray 1.0 now broken

Using the VRAY beta, several of my models render all white images. I was not able to have much luck rendering with the beta and the DR can not be installed, so I uninstalled the beta release. Then I re-installed VRAY 1.0 original release. Now VRAY is broken and fails to load with warning: Unable to load VRayForRhino.rhp plug-in: Dependent DLL is out of date.

Now my systems are all completely down... Please help to restore my original VRay!!!!
                            Thank2

The beta uses the newer version of RDK which is not supported with the release version. The thread that will get you back on track is here.

                              http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=c...14580#msg14580

I believe there was something up the the DR installations in the current beta(I think they too were trying to communicate with the license server), but that will be fixed in the next release of the beta

Only an idea: what is, if you copy the ASGvis folder from the master to the slaves and you setup the license server at the master?
