    RCM Bugs

I posted this on the Rhino forum also.
After I show the mapping widget, I can't hide it. I de-select the geometry, change views, etc. If I close and re-open the file it's gone.
Also, the mapping widget used to have handles that I could drag. Are they gone?

    Thanks,
    Craig

      Craig,

I answered you on Rhino forum. But if your 0 or default layer is off or frozen, you won't be able to do anything with the widget.Select or hide won't work.
I don't know if it is a bug,but it is annoying for sure .

And since I don't have a 0 or default layer...

        Thanks, I'll try that.

... hide or enable object layer hide the object, but not the mapping widget, if it is set at visible befor.

            Re: RCM Bugs

As mentioned in other threads, the box mapping gives crap results, the 'edges' of the box show as wide lines with a distorted texture. I really hope this gets attention, because it is a very important mapping type.

              Re: RCM Bugs

I'll compile a list of complaints to Andy - is it just the box mapping that gives the most trouble?

... cylindrical mapping too (most if I rotate the widget). I sended you an email with subject "Geometric artefacts bug" at march 9.

                  Re: RCM Bugs

I just checked, and it is both for capped cylindrical and cubic mapping that the image gets distorted.

Ok - I'll pass this along to Andy

Other issues to pass along to Andy
-Being able to press Tab to move from field to field (I can't tell you how much this gets on my nerves
-Being able to access the Safe Frame parameters via the command line with the windows suppressed (The safeframe option is there when I go to document properties, but I can't get into any of its controls. My real desire is to have a shortcut that will toggle on and off the safeframes.)

                        while we are at it:

when setting the sun manually each time you want to modify, the settings are reset,it should keep the settings.

Did you use the Rhio sun command? Or did you use the modify button at the sun directional light options?

Andy, the McNeel mapping-man, requested some simple scenes demonstrating your mapping issues. Would you guys mind sending them to my email? I'll forward them along for you. Thanks guys

When you use modify from our VRaySunLight object properties page it just runs some RDK thing (essentially the same as the SunLight command but without asking for a position again ). I could ask that he allow us to set some of the variables - but I believe he just reads whatever was used last as far as the location / time, etc.

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding what the issue was?
