I've been working on some renderings and for some reason areas that should be dark shadowed areas, are rendering lighter than anything else. I have GI turned off. My only lights are some rectangular lights with decay that are a good distance away, and a few small emitting materials. I have tried turning off certain lights in attempt to isolate the problem. I don't have a sky on. It seems like wherever it should get really dark, vray is getting confused, and rendering the shadow as bright lights. I have run into the problem before where you get glowing intersections between open polysurfaces, so I went through the troublesome area and built it super clean, only one closed polysurface, and it didn't fix anything. Any suggestions?

Update
I have narrowed it down to the indirect illumination. I am using irradiance map as my primary, and light cache as my secondary. If i turn off the indirect illumination, obviously the whole scene gets darker, but i would hope to find the solution to the problem, rather that just add a bunch of lights to make up for not using indirect illumination.
