Re: Anyone having luck with windows 7 and DRSpawer ?

I'm using VFR, if Mac slaves are working with DR and PC host, how can I set up DRspawner on the macs? That is, where do I get the Mac software since I only have VFR for PC?
We don't have a version of the DR for Rhino on Mac yet. We do have a version for Mac for the new build of V-Ray for Sketchup. In this new version of V-Ray for Sketchup, the DR is working fine between PC and Mac. We are working right now in the new version of V-Ray for Rhino and we are planning to have a new version for Rhino on Mac too. When this happen you should not have any issue using a combination between PC and Mac.
At this moment we don't have any Mac compatible version of the DR for the current version of VfR.

Another suggestion : WIRED ONLY networking

I had to Ethernet-wire-connect all slaves for reliable performance. If one slave was on the network via wifi, it would generate errors and stop working. My best guess is that it was not fast enough to keep up and caused timing issues.

Anyway, the problem disappeared when a cable was connected.

        Right on!

I have been preaching wired only since I started here.

          absolutely.

maybe small stuff - with 100 MB network wired we seem to get a theoretical 140-150 MB file size problem.

decimating it and turn to meshes helps. Its almost enough for aircraft fly-throughs - hopefully we'll move to faster network soon and then we'll know.

Having Rhino 5 and VfR 64 bit - so we could get at the memory might really help here.

I found the problem with Drspawner and win7. The solution apart from adding and exeption in firewall of windows for drspawner is to switch the antivirus ( I have nod32 v4) to firewall learning mode.

            Hope this help.
