Hi all,
I've been working on my latest scene in Rhino with Vray, and every time I start up my computer and load up my rhino file and start rendering, after computing light cache, everything crashes. If I use override materials it does not crash.
Now, to check if it is the geometry or too big textures, I have concluded that it is neither. My textures are all pretty small (not bigger than 1000px jpegs).
I have started deleting objects from my scene group by group, but it seemed like it would crash just randomly.
Then, one of the weirdest ways of fixing this I found is this: I save the file under some other filename (make a copy) and delete the whole bunch of objects, layers and some materials, just so the render will start. When it actually starts to render, I can safely go back and open up my original filename (where I haven't deleted or edited anything) and render without the problem After that rendering works all the time until I exit Rhino and open again. Then the whole thing starts again.
What is the deal with that???
