  • RenderID anti-alias

Thank you for anti-aliasing the MaterialID in the latest version of Vray for Rhino.

Wondering if it's possible to do the same fix for the RenderID channel? I use this channel a lot and I would think that the fix would be the same as MaterialID?

          Hi Guys
Render ID is defined as integer numbers, which is why Render ID element is integers (and so are not antialiased). However, Rhino use colors for Material ID, that is why material ID has antialiasing. Another channel that it is very close to Render ID it is the Object ID. Object ID it is a color id and it has anti-aliasing. Unfortunately, we don't have Object ID in Rhino yet.

With that in mind - why can't this be re-done with individual objects rather than by material?

'Use colours' for Render ID. The only difference that I see between the two channels is one selects by material (Material ID) and the other selects by individual objects (Render ID).

In Rhino there in no way to setup object ID like in 3ds Max. So, it is a little bit difficult to do that in the correct way. But this is something that we are going to improve in the future

V-Ray 3 for Rhino has Object ID setting that can be found in the V-Ray properties panel of every object. It is really useful with the Texture "MultiSubTex".
