  • Linking textures/values

Is it possible to link values or parameters so that changing one will alter other instances of the texture/parameter?

For example, say that you have a noise texture on both the diffuse and bump slots and you want the U/V size to always match between them. Can that be done?

Taking it a step further, can a full texture be referenced by multiple slots?

Would save a lot of clicks!

    Thx

    Hi monksalve,

There is currently no way of instancing textures or linking parameters.
This is on the other hand something on the top of our To Do list.
We are already working on an improved system for asset management (that includes texture instancing) that you can expect to see in our next major version release.

    Regards,
    Konstantin

I realized something that is probably obvious for most Rhino users but I'll post it here in case you are n00b like me.

If you make adjustments to the UV scale in the Rhino UV mapping as opposed to the V-Ray texture parameters you'll be scaling ALL the textures associated to that part/surface. Silly me was changing the size on each of the V-Ray slots individually. smh.
