Hi again,
I'm sorry for posting two topics at once, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to export a big (2GB+ scene) from Rhino to Max...
My first thought was to use a Vrscene, but first of all - this scene doesn't appear to import the proxies used all along (or am I wrong) and secondly - the Vrscene is actually a huge proxy, that cannot really be worked with any further... As it's an animation team, they have to be able to tweak some aspects or materials of the model, before rendering...
That's why I tried FBX, which doesn't only export the geometry, but also things like saved camera angles etc., which is nice. BUT: the FBX format doesn't support the usage of proxies and also exports the textures only, without the precise material setup I've used in the Rhino model. So they have to take the trial and error way in order to get the materials in Max to render like the materials in Rhino, which takes a looong time, they don't really have...
So, do you have any suggestions on how to optimally transfer the Rhino model to Max, without the animation team having to do all the work I've already done once again?
I (and the animation-team certainly) will really appreciate every idea on that matter! Thank you all in advance!
All the best!
